Specialty Food Education: (Not Just) A Great Place To Rest Your Feet

Gretchen VanEsselstyn, SFA
I’ve heard it from so many show attendees and exhibitors during my years at the SFA: They love the education sessions at the Fancy Food Show because they get to learn from the researchers, trend experts, entrepreneurs, and innovative thinkers that make our industry the fascinating landscape that it is. And they get to sit down.

So while you’re putting together your plans to attend or exhibit at the show, schedule some time to visit our SFA stages.

On the Main Stage on Level 2, we’re featuring our research partners from Mintel with their insights into the five key drivers for specialty food in 2020. We’re bringing together policy experts on key topics like tariffs, CBD, and Prop 65. And we’re celebrating the industry icons who are creating change with our Leadership Awards – and that’s just Sunday!

Monday begins with the trends. Datassential’s Mike Kostyo brings you a deep immersion into our industry, followed by a hard-hitting panel on one of the biggest topics facing our world: food waste. In the afternoon, in partnership with the Plant Based Foods Association, learn how the exploding growth of plant-based foods is showing itself in retail. And end your day with the fiery fun of our Front Burner Foodservice Competition.

Tuesday wraps up the show with two stellar panels: President Phil Kafarakis meets Momofuku CEO Marguerite Zabar Mariscal and additional disruptors – and leads into a powerhouse panel presented with Houlihan Lokey featuring specialty food success stories REBBL, Kite Hill, My/Mo Mochi and Banza. You’d better believe these folks have some stories – and you’d better be there to hear them.

Also, you have to check out the Big Idea Stage on the show floor near Aisle 1800. We’ll have provocative panels, inspiring talks, and focused time with the thinkers and innovators who are shaking up our industry in all the best ways.

And if you’re a maker, consider picking up a Maker Pass to get access to our Maker Space – you’ll learn how to scale up, work with co-packers, sell to the channels, make Amazon part of your plan, and create the most strategic packaging your customers have ever seen.
See you at the show!
