We at the Association offer our thoughts and support to those of you recovering from Hurricane Harvey, and who have already been affected by, or are in the anticipated path of, Hurricane Irma. We care deeply about our members, and want to check on your safety, as well as offer any assistance we can, including publishing a company status update for the trade in Specialty Food News. Happening Now and Coming Up
Stay up-to-date with the Announcements Board. Here’s a look at Association events that are happening now and approaching:

Food Safety Monday Conference Call, Monday, September 11, 1:00-1:30 PM EST
The Foreign Supplier Verification Program became law in May 2017, and FDA is expecting all importers of finished products and ingredients to prove that their sources produce safe food. However, there is much confusion as to who is actually the importer, how the safety of the food should be verified, and so on. Join Ron Tanner, SFA Vice President of Philanthropy, Government & Industry Relations and Marsha Echols, SFA’s Washington counsel for a members-only conference call, as they discuss the intricacies of FSVP. In addition, SFA will tell you about the Food Safety Plan template that FDA released in August. There's no need to pre-register; click here for the dial-in info.

Embrace Hunger Relief Month is Here!
September 1st marked the start of Embrace Hunger Relief Month. This event is a coordinated effort, with the Association and our member companies working to help our hungry neighbors by donating time, money, and/or products. As with recent hunger relief efforts, this month’s event will also be a regional showdown, with an East versus West contest. Click here for more information on how you and your organization can get involved, and how to help us track your donations.
