Photo
Greetings, Community! I hope that you all had a good week.

By this time next week, many of you will be either on your way to New York City, or onsite and moving in. We are truly excited to see all of you at the 63rd Annual Summer Fancy Food Show--and what a Show we have planned! We’ll cover some of what to expect in this week’s recap, and in a blog post next week.

First, if you’ve not yet registered for (or upgraded to) a Premium Pass, it’s not too late! A Premium Pass allows you access to the brand-new LevelUP attraction, making its debut at the 2017 Summer Fancy Food Show. Located in the River Pavilion, LevelUP features a chance to taste the food of tomorrow, gain insight and inspiration from “Excite Talks,” explore what’s driving consumer trends, and much more. Between tastings and learning, you can shop the store of the future at The Future Market. Click here for more information about LevelUP and to register.

I’m also excited to announce that as part of the SFA’s 65th anniversary celebration, we’re hosting a photo contest on Twitter! Ten lucky winners will each receive one $65 Amazon gift card. Click here for contest details and of course, The Fine Print.

And finally, be sure to download the Fancy Food Show Mobile App. This app offers a host of valuable features, including a walking map, an education schedule, a floorplan, easy exhibitor search, and more. You can find links and more info here

And now for the weekly summary:

This Week in the Q&A Forum
The Q&A Forum is a place to connect with your peers 24/7 and gain insight from others who have been-there-done-that. Below is an overview of some recent discussions, to which you're invited to join and share your advice and related questions:

FSMA Question "I am trying to figure out what documents we need to comply with FSMA.  I use co-packers but purchase the ingredients and provide them to the co-packer…Do I need documents for packaging?"

Purchase Orders "What is the difference between a purchase order verses an order? I've heard both terms used often and in different settings, so I was feeling confused. Thank you!"

Packaging "I’m looking for a custom box manufacture in Ca. Any suggestions?"

This Week in the SFA Blog
The SFA Blog offers readers a variety of topics, including thought leadership on business and industry matters, value propositions, guides, and more. Here’s a quick look at what we published this week:

Waste Less, Help More with End of Show Product Donations “At the close of the Summer Fancy Food Show, we invite you to join your fellow exhibitors by donating food to help feed the hungry.  It is super-easy – as those exhibitors who consistently do it year after year can attest—and can save you money too!” In this SFA Blog contribution, SFA Philanthropy Director Laura Lozada shares a quick guide to donating products to those in need after the Show.

The Food of Tomorrow: Innovation In What We Eat, Make, And SellEvery day at the Summer Fancy Food Show, we will bring together some of the most influential thinkers and makers in today’s marketplace to talk about how they see – and create – the future of the food that we produce, market, and consume. It’s all part of the LevelUP experience which is focused on the future of food, and Premium Pass holders will have access to five sessions of Excite Talks, short, provocative sessions with high-level thinkers, plus time for Q&A.” In this post to The SFA Blog, SFA Education and Content Associate Sara Kay shares a glimpse at this year’s education sessions.

And of course, I’d remiss if I didn’t send out an enormous WELCOME to this week’s newest Solution Center members! I say this often, but it never ceases to be true—it’s always exciting to see new names and companies show up in the Directory, and to see members learn from and connect with one another. It is truly a privilege to be your community manager.

That’s about it for this week. Have a wonderful weekend, and for those of you coming to the Show, happy planning, and safe travels!
